Dripping Springs Band Boosters

Volunteer

There are so many ways to become part of the Band Family. No matter your schedule or skillset, there is something for everyone!

All of our volunteers must register

annually with Dripping Springs ISD here:

DSISD Volunteer Registration

CHAPERONE

Parent chaperones are needed for all football games (home and away) and any marching contest or UIL events that the Band attends. Duties are very simple: we check students on and off the buses and are generally available for anything the kids or directors need during the event.

You'll get to see the Band behind-the-scenes, and get to know one of our most fun groups of parent volunteers.

For more information, contact Jared Jones at chaperones@dsbandboosters.org or find the signups on our BoosterHub calendar.

CONCESSION VOLUNTEER

Our home football game concession stand is one of our band's major fundraisers and it requires that EVERY band family do their part!

Each Friday night home game, we are responsible for managing setup prior to the game, sales to the end of the game and cleaning up to prepare for the next game on both the home and away side.

The concession stand is a BIG job, and we ask that every band family work at least three shifts per season. Sometimes it'll be very hot, and sometimes it'll be very cold, but it'll always be a critical piece of the band budget.

If you've got questions, ask our Concessions VPHeather Wisham at concessions@dsbandboosters.org. You'll find the signups on our BoosterHub calendar.

SPONSORSHIPS

Our fundraising team solicites donations and sponsorships from area businesses in addition to organizing our annual Marchathon, "Spirit Nights" at local businesses, and various other fundraisers throughout the year.

If you'd like to be part of this team, or have questions, contact Kimberly Bertram at fundraising@dsbandboosters.org.

PIT CREW

For every game (home and away) or marching contest, we need a group of volunteers to help move the percussion pit equipment onto the field before our show, and off the field when the band finishes. This is a very important job that is critical in helping our performance run smoothly.

Don’t worry about feeling like you don’t know what to do – you will have clear instructions and the band students will help you place the equipment properly!

If you've got questions, or are ready to join the pit crew, contact Robert Carriker at percussion@dsbandboosters.org.

BAND MOVERS

For every game (home and away) or contest, we need drivers to pull the trailers that transport our equipment and instruments. Anyone holding a Class C (regular) license can pull our Podium (small) trailer, while our “Pit” trailer requires a Class A (commercial) license. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Logan Lucas at movers@dsbandboosters.org.

UNIFORM VOLUNTEERS

Our uniform crew fits, alters, and washes the uniforms for the Band and Color Guard. If you have any sewing or ironing skills and are willing to help, this is the place for you.

This can be a fairly flexible job time-wise – you can work one day or several, at different times of the day.

If you have quetions or would like to help on the Uniform Team, contact Su Gibbs at uniforms@dsbandboosters.org.

EVENTS

Throughout the year, the DSHS Band Boosters will host several large fundraising events. In September, we will host the Thunder in the Hills percussion context. In late January, we will host the Pageantry in the Springs Color Guard context.

In December of 2024, we will have our annual Marchathon fundraiser (this year with a holiday theme!).

Stay tuned for signups for each of these events, because they each require every band family to do their part!
